Philopsychy Press is a non-profit publishing company set up in 1993 to promote the idea of academic self-publishing in the computer age. So far, the owner, Dr Stephen Palmquist (D Phil, Oxon), has published four of his own books under the Philopsychy Press imprint: The Tree of Philosophy, Biblical Theocracy, Four Neglected Essays by Immanuel Kant and Dreams of Wholeness. These books are available over the World Wide Web as well as in printed form. Orders can be placed by filling out the on-line form located at: http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/~ppp/ppp/PPPform.html. The Press also assists other scholars who have published or hope to publish their own works of creative scholarship. In addition to offering advice and other support on the publishing process for those who do not wish to go to the trouble of starting their own company, the Press provides free internet support through Dr Palmquist's award-winning web site (http:/www.hkbu.edu.hk/~ppp/WASP.html). A variety of resources actively encourage other academics to consider author-publishing as a viable and respectable alternative in the computer age. Philopsychy Press is affiliated with the Philopsychy Society (an internet-based society of scholars and other writers interested in promoting author-publication and/or the principle of "soul-loving"). The Society sponsors two e-mail discussion lists: GAP-L (Global Author-Publishers List) and PPS-L (PhiloPsychy Society List).
